Who is behind the editorial team?
The editorial team consists of SAFETEE GmbH specialists who are responsible for occupational safety, health and safety coordination and HSE management on major construction sites and in energy projects. This practice shapes the questions the radar asks: what will affect a site, a grid or a location in the coming months?
Marc Riegel, a graduate engineer in safety engineering and managing director of SAFETEE GmbH since 2013, is editorially responsible. He works as an expert witness and consultant for occupational safety and HSE management, focusing on risk analysis and risk assessment. Only people registered as reviewers in the editorial system and signed in with their SAFETEE account may release content.
How is content checked and released?
- Official and openly licensed sources first: federal authorities, the Federal Network Agency, police reports, the Bundestag, statistical offices.
- Where possible, two independent sources per statement. Reports with only one source carry the visible mark “single source”.
- Forecasts state the question, basis, probability and due date. On the due date the editorial team checks whether they came true and publishes the result with evidence.
- Older entries are regularly checked for currency and expire after fixed periods.
The full path is shown on How we check, the forecasting method on How forecasts are made.
What is AI used for?
Language models help with pre-sorting incoming reports, summarising, translating and drafting forecast questions. Every suggestion must be justified. People decide what is included, changed or left out; a text counts as published only after release.
How are errors corrected?
Published issues are not silently overwritten. A correction appears as a visible addendum with date and reason, and the log shows who changed what and when. The editorial team receives notices of errors at radar@safetee.eu.
Which principles does the editorial team follow?
- Probabilities instead of claims: no forecast is phrased as a certainty.
- Politically neutral: sentiment is measured on issues only, not on parties.
- Sources open: every statement names its source; licences are listed on Sources and licences.
- No individual advice: the radar does not replace legal advice, a risk assessment or investment advice.
Questions and answers
Frequently asked.
Who is responsible for the content?
The publisher is SAFETEE GmbH, Wasserstraße 221, 44799 Bochum, Germany. Editorially responsible under section 18 (2) of the German State Media Treaty is Marc Riegel, managing director of SAFETEE GmbH.
Does an AI write the radar?
Not on its own. AI pre-sorts, summarises, translates and supplies drafts. Checking, editing and release lie with people in the editorial team, and every release carries a name.
What happens if a forecast does not come true?
It is shown and counted as not having occurred on the due date. The direction is scored: a forecast below 50 percent that does not occur counts as correctly assessed. Misjudgements stay visible.
